TRUONG THANH LONG

Born in 1983, Vietnamese designer Truong Thanh Long showed an affinity for the arts and creative discipline from an early age, growing up in central Vietnam. After graduating high school, Long decided to pursue his passion for fashion design, graduated from College of art.

Throughout his career, Long has garnered many major accolades and recognition from esteemed industry groups and media alike, with his most notable achievement being crowned the winner of the 2002 Vietnam Collection Grand Prix design award. The following year in 2003, Truong Thanh Long was selected to represent Vietnam competing in the Young Asian Designer Contest held in Singapore. Subsequently in 2004, Long launched his inaugural label ICON, specializing in ready to wear clothing. Truong Thanh Long also participated in Singapore Fashion Week in 2005 and his works are regularly featured in editorial fashion spreads and on catwalks in various fashion shows throughout Vietnam.

Truong Thanh Long’s style can be described as a blend of contrasting aesthetics and his designs amalgamate urban sophistication inspired by the raw edginess of modern life while paying homage to the romanticism and flirty femininity of a bygone era. Simplicity and elegant refinement have always been a key feature that Long has tried to emphasize in his designs.

Aside from primarily being known for his work as a fashion designer, Long has also taken part in other creative projects in his spare time. Long has appeared in many feature films, fashion modeling, print advertisements and has been a brand ambassador for a number of well respected companies.
