West Ham vs Spurs match preview
West Ham picked up their first win of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday, so will go into this London derby against Spurs full of confidence.
The club smashed their transfer record to bring Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta to east London, but it would be a surprise to see him start. Still, he could be unveiled at the game to get the home fans even more amped up.
The Hammers’ new striker Gianluca Scamacca is still searching for his first Premier League goal, and a strike against the Irons’ fierce rivals would certainly endear him to the fans.
Tottenham are getting good results while not performing as we know they can.
It’s the club’s best start in the Premier League for 13 years. That’s a good sign for Spurs, but they’ll want to put on show against their London rivals.
Harry Kane is in fine form (even though it’s August), with four goals to his name so far, while the defence looks solid despite the absence of Cristian Romero.
However, there will be some concern over the form of Heung-Min Son. The South Korean Golden Boot winner is yet to score this season and has looked out of sorts.
He was disappointed to be subbed off against Nottingham Forest, but the arrival of Richarlison had a positive impact on the team. Conte’s starting line-up will be intriguing.
