‎SS501 on Apple Music

A South Korean boy band with an admittedly overly complex name (the SS stands for ‘superstar,’ while the ‘5′ represented the members of the group, the ‘0′ represented “until eternity,” as ‘1′) SS501 was a member of the Daesung Entertainment family of pop musicians. Their first single arrived in stores in 2005, and was quickly followed up with a second, but throat surgery for Heo Young Saeng meant that most of 2006 was a wash for SS501. Their debut album, Now, was released in November of that year, and the group made forays into the Japanese market. In 2007 the group (Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min, and Kim Hyung Joon) released a six track mini-album (Kokoro) in Japan. ~ Chris True
