Smita Bansal is an Indian actress who is known for acting in Hindi television serials and films. She was born on 21st February 1977. She completed her graduation from St. Francis Convent Inter College, Uttar Pradesh to Sudhir and Sashi Bansal. She has a brother Saurabh Bansal.

Smita made her acting debut in 1996 with the television serial, Itihaas. In 1997, she starred in a television serial with Amanat. In 1998, she made her film debut with the Malayalam film Daya. In the same year, she appeared in seven television serials, Challenge, Cincinnati Bubblaboo, Alpviram, X Zone – Neha: Part 1 – Part 4, Kora Kagaz, Daal Mein Kala and Aashirwad. In 1999, she was seen in six television serials, X Zone – Talaash: Part 1 & Part 2, Saturday Suspense – Hamen Sab Pata Hai, Rishtey – Ek Ghar Ye Bhi, Rishtey – Naya Vivah, Aahat – The last reel: Part 1 & Part 2, Tina: Part 1 & Part 2, Saath Saath.

Later, in 2000, she made her Hindi film debut with Hum To Mohabbat Karega. In that year she also appeared in the television serial, Tulsi. In 2001, she appeared in four television serials, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai – Tantrik, Sanskruti and Sarhadein. Kohi Apna Sa was his only released television serial in 2002. In 2003, she appeared in two television serials, Vikraal Aur Gabraal – Tantrik and Sanjivani. In 2004, she starred in four television serials, Piya Ka Ghar, Raat Hone Ko Hai – Drishti: Part 1 – Part 4, and Ye Meri Life Hai. In 2005, she participated in the television reality show Fame Gurukul. In 2006, she appeared in four television shows, Twinkle Beauty Parlour Lajpat Nagar, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Viraasat and Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai. In 2008, she appeared in her third film, Karzzzz. She also appeared in two other television shows, Paani Puri and Balika Vadhu. In that year, she won the Indian Telly Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Balika Vadhu.

Next, in 2011 and 2012, she participated in two television shows Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4 and Nach Baliye 5. In 2013, she appeared as a guest, on Comedy Nights with Kapil. In 2014, she was seen in two television shows, Akbar Birbal – Akbar Ki Pehli Begum: Part 1 – Part 3 and Tum Aise Hi Rehna. Zindagi Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Ghost has only released the television show in 2015. In 2016, she was seen in the television show Jaana Na Dil Se Door. In 2018, she appeared in two television shows, Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga and Nazar. Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! was her only released television show of 2019.
