Rapper Le$’ upcoming project ‘$tay Down’ set to release on Sunday
Houston is the city that remains hip-hop’s underdog, and we’re okay with that. We have so many artists whose talents fly under the mainstream radar, but that doesn’t make the caliber of the music any less amazing.
NEW HOUSTON MUSIC: Houston rapper Slim Thug gets romantic for new project ‘SDS Vibes’
Houston emcee Le$ is one of those artists. Despite the rapper having made music for years now, his recognition is delayed.
But Le$ is still pushing Houston culture forward with his music. The rapper and co-owner of local streetwear brand Dios announced Sunday that he has a new project on the horizon.
Titled “$tay Down,” the LP is fully composed by California-based artist and producer Polyester The Saint, who also has production credits for rappers like Freddie Gibbs, Dom Kennedy, Curren$y and Larry June.

If the production credits and his past projects are any indicator, the new music will follow the vibe of late-night cruises through the Bayou City. A chill yet luxurious sound that makes you feel — for lack of better words — expensive.
The new project follows his earlier release this year — his collaboration with half of the legendary group UGK, Bun B, for the “Distant” EP.
“$tay Down” is complete with 10 tracks, and seemingly has no features. Going against the grain of the music industry’s latest “new music Fridays” format, the rapper is releasing the 10-track project on Sunday.
To keep up with the release, fans can pre-save the album via Apple Music.
