NU’EST on Apple Music
The South Korean boy band NU’EST formed in 2012 and saw moderate success early on. But they didn’t gain major recognition until four members competed on the hit television show Produce 101 in 2017.
• The band’s name stands for “New Establish Style Tempo.” They debuted in 2012 with the anti-bullying anthem “Face.”
• The members of the group, especially Baekho, often write NU’EST’s songs, often collaborating with producer Bumzu.
• Group member Minhyun participated in the temporary act Wanna One, active from the end of Produce 101 through 2019. In the meantime, the four other members performed under the name NU’EST W. The group reunited as a quintet in 2019 with the release of the EP Happily Ever After.
• Happily Ever After yielded the single “Bet Bet,” the finale of the band’s “Knight searching for the queen” series of singles, connected with their 2016 songs “Overcome” and “Love Paint (Every Afternoon).”
