Biography:

A reality TV veteran and actress, Deluth, Ga. resident NeNe Leakes first rose to fame as one of the original cast members on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2008, opposite Kim Zolciak, Sheree Whitfield, DeShawn Snow, and Lisa Wu-Hartwell. (Several other women have since joined the series in its five seasons on the air, with Leakes remaining the only original member of the cast.)

In addition to RHOA, Leakes has also appeared as Coach Roz on Glee, Rocky on The New Normal and took part in the eleventh season of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2011. She walked off the series after an altercation with fellow contestant Star Jones.

Leakes — who has been open about her previous career as a stripper — met her husband, Gregg Leakes, in 1996. The couple married in 1997 and later welcomed son Brentt. (The couple each have children from previous relationships, including Leakes’ son, Bryson.) Though NeNe divorced Gregg in 2011, the couple reconciled and announced their engagement in January 2013. The couple remarried in June 2013 — with costars Zolciak, Phaedra Parks, Portia Stewart and Kandi Burruss in attendance — in a ceremony filmed for their Bravo spinoff series, I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding, set to air in fall 2013.
