My embroidery portfolio:

– Independent embroidery artist, established at
Meo Meo Atelier since 2014.

– Self-trained in the techniques of embroidery,
textile and embroidery design since an early
age.

– Trainer of local people and help to improve and
mentor their embroidery skills. 

– Co-founded Hoitheuthua.net – the largest
online community for embroidery enthusiasts
and craft professionals in Vietnam in 2003, now
with more than 20.000 members.

– Ongoing student of Viet Nam’s traditional
embroidery arts (which are sadly declining),
taking instruction from the remaining master
artisans still working in Viet Nam. This learning
takes place in person and by distance with
artisans throughout the country, helping to
preserve and document the particular
techniques of Vietnamese embroidery works.
The same approach has been taken with
studying embroidery techniques such as cross-
stitch, Jacobean embroidery, Tambour
embroidery, Cretan crochet, and others.

– Research on textiles and embroidery while on
personal travel in France, India, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Thailand, Laos,
Cambodia, Australia….

– Education and award: Graduated Vietnam National Fine Art University 2006, trained in Ecole Lesage Paris 2013. Awarded by German Pedagogic Ministry 2000, by Mobil’Asie / Le Lieu du Design Paris 2015.
