Mrs. Hien is a maid in Mr. Dai’s family. He already has three sons with different ex-wives but lives alone. Having an affair
with Mrs. Hien gives them three children together – two sons (Nui and Song) and one daughter (Bien). However, he never considers
Mrs. Hien and their kids as his wife and children. After his two own sons moved to South Vietnam, he is left with Y, his youngest
son whom he gives all of his love. In contrast, Mr. Dai is very antagonistic and cruel with Mrs. Hien and her children. This
is a sad story of Mrs. Hien’s life
