Kevin A. Phillip – Managing Director at Waystone Cayman Islands

Kevin A. Phillip is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in the Cayman Islands. His fund governance experience covers a wide range of fund strategies, including Long/Short equity, Greek shipping, Private Equity, Global Real Estate, Asset-backed Securities, including Mortgage-backed Securities, Commodity, Currency, Agriculture and Healthcare funds.

Kevin has extensive experience serving as an independent director on boards of investment funds and related structures for over 12 years, providing guidance on fund governance, accounting, regulatory compliance, legal and financial issues. In addition, Kevin has significant audit experience, focusing on large, international financial institutions, US domestic and offshore hedge funds and mutual funds.

At Waystone, Kevin directs the strategy, implementation, and execution of the business plan for all products in the Cayman Islands, working with Global Business Development, various Business Units and Operations teams, to ensure that all operational client facing teams provide a best-in-class service.

Previously, Kevin led the Waystone International Tax and Compliance team and in addition to his current role he continues to provide guidance and independent oversight to boards to ensure that governance, regulatory and compliance requirements of the highest standard are met.

Formerly, Kevin worked as an auditor with Ernst & Young in New York and the Cayman Islands, focusing on large international financial institutions, domestic and offshore hedge funds and US mutual funds. His hedge fund client base held assets in excess of US$12Bn under management.
