John Carpenter & Godzilla Mashup Teased – Dark Horizons

A recent video posting on the social media accounts of Fangoria have teased a collaboration that’s gotten people excited – master horror director John Carpenter and iconic cinematic kaiju Godzilla.

The video shows Carpenter sitting down in a movie theater as an off-screen projector plays a film. An audible Godzilla scream and foot stomping can be heard. The posting also tags distributors Shout Factory, Scream Factory, and streamer TokuSHOUTsu.

This has led to much speculation as to what it’s for. Some have suggested the unreleased fan film “Gorgo vs. Godzilla” that Carpenter did when he was very young could be getting a release, others have suggested some kind of collaboration on a home video release of the old “Godzilla” films of some kind.

For now, there’s more questions than answers. Legendary Entertainment’s currently in the works “Godzilla vs. Kong” sequel is the only confirmed “Godzilla” film project on the way for now.
