Anglo-Gold Ashanti donates to Department of Legal Service of GAF

The Legal Department of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has taken delivery of six (6) computers and four (4) air conditioners from the AngloGold Ashanti, a mining company in Obuasi on Wednesday 26 June 2019 at Burma Camp.

Presenting the items, the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs of Anglo-Gold Ashanti, Mrs Juliet Manteaw Kutin noted that, the donation was in honour of a request placed before the Company by the Acting Director General, Legal Service, Colonel Amoah-Boakye Benjamin to expand the resource base of the Legal Department.

Mrs Juliet Manteaw Kutin who was accompanied by the Senior Manager in charge of Security, Gameli Kofi Gamor  hoped the items would be used for the needed purpose.

The Chief of Staff (COS) of GAF, Major General Opong Preprah on behalf of Ghana Armed Forces, expressed his profound gratitude to Anglo-Gold Ashanti. He assured them that the items would be put to good use and urged other corporate bodies to emulate the same gesture.

On his part, the Acting Director General, Legal Service, Colonel Amoah-Boakye Benjamin emphasised that there was the need for an expansion in terms of staffing, office space and other logistics, hence, the request for assistance from Anglo-Gold Ashanti as the Legal Directorate is now a Department.
