In April 2014, Deng En Xi’s aunt saw an announcement for a kid modeling contest and applied for Deng En Xi. She became the champion of Mister and Miss Mini category in Chongqing and the second runner-up in the national competition. In November, as the third runner-up in the modeling contest, she participated in the Chongqing runway show of Showkids 2015. In 2016, Deng En Xi who had no experience in acting auditioned for the role of Chen Xiaoxin in “The Devotion of Suspect X”, a suspense thriller film based on the novel by Keigo Higashino, directed by Alec Su. In the end, she was selected for the role. Due to the need of the plot, she deliberately learned the double reed. On August 13th, she participated in the filming of Hubei TV’s reality show “Hero Youth Town”, where she and five other partners worked together in the desert to complete the impossible mission. On March 31st, 2017, “The Devotion of Suspect X” was released nationwide and grossed 47.79 million at the box office. On July 9, “Boy Hood” was aired on Hunan TV in which Deng En Xi played the role of Xing Shanshan, a bright and youthful high school girl. In August, she co-starred with Chen Jian Bin in the comedy “A Cool Fish” directed by Rao Xiaozhi in which she played a rebellious girl. In March 2018, she acted in “Last Letter” starring Zhu Xun, produced by Peter Chan, and directed by Shunji Iwai. In September, she starred in the period drama “Legend of Awakening”, based on the novel of the same name by Hudie Lan, directed by Vicky Wong. She played Su Tang, a valiant but ignorant young girl. Her life revolved around Lu Ping. But after the two are separated, Su Tang’s sense of self gradually awakens and she learns to live for herself.
