Vivian Hsu

Vivian Hsu is the principal of Hsu & Associates LLC, a law firm specializing in employment counseling, workplace training programs, internal investigations, mediation and ombuds services to businesses and organizations. She provides advice on workplace issues and the employment relationship, with an emphasis on preventative practices and dispute resolution. Vivian develops and conducts interactive training programs for managers, supervisors, human resource professionals and employees on diversity, anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, management skills and other employment law topics. She conducts workplace investigations as an independent fact finder, provides mediation services for employment disputes and serves as a facilitator for business and community groups.

Vivian also is the Ombudsperson for Mount Holyoke College and, as a trained ombuds and member of the International Ombudsman Association, subscribes to IOA’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Committed to community, civic and professional involvement, Vivian provides pro bono legal services to several non-profit groups and community organizations. She continues to serve in leadership roles with many organizations including the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), the NAPABA Law Foundation, the Community Dispute Settlement Center and the Personnel Board for the Town of Needham. She is an appointed member of the Massachusetts Trial Court Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution and serves on the Massachusetts Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section Council as Education Co-Liaison. Vivian is a Regional Selection Panelist for the President’s Commission for White House Fellowships. She has been a facilitator in the Boston City-Wide Dialogues Project on Racial and Ethnic Diversity and for the Summit on Leading Diversity, a national diversity conference. She also serves on the White House Fellowships selection committee for the Boston Region.

Supporting the advancement of women leaders, Vivian is an active member of the Boston Club, served as President of the Women’s Business Network, as a board member of the Asian Women’s Connection, and as host and committee member for the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) Silk Road Gala, ATASK’s EmPower Business Women’s Breakfast and other events.

A graduate of Smith College and Suffolk University School of Law, Vivian has served as a faculty member for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and on the American Arbitration Association panel of mediators for MCAD complaints, as Education Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association and as a Committee Leader of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Boston Bar Association. Prior to private practice, she was in-house Division Counsel with Motorola Inc. and Staff Attorney for the WGBH Educational Foundation.
