Vannie or Vanabelle (ヴァナベル), full name Vannabelle Nova Lani, is a member of the Quin Zaza and the last surviving member of Arena royal family in the Drifting Dragons series.

Appearance

Vannie has green eyes with long silver hair that is kept up in a pony tail. She wears a blue uniform with a belt around her waist, as well as a black choker around her neck and brown boots.

Personality

Vannie has a cool and calm personality. She is a considerable drinker, but she has a delicate side. She has an introvert mindset who questions herself with deep and rarely emotional thoughts of the purpose of why hunting dragons has the importance for herself and her crew members. She rarely or never show her emotional side but rarely or sometimes talks to people that she deeply appreciates to talk to. Also, she hates when Mika does ridiculous and reckless behavior when confronting dragons and killing them.

History

According to Vannie, she was actually the daughter of the king of Arena and one of his servants. Her mother then died when she was still too young to remember, however that didn’t stop the Queen from turning her resentment on Vannie. She grew up in a tiny corner of the castle, barely allowed the freedom to leave her room. That was, until a rebellion broke out and turned the city into a warzone. She managed to get out of Arena by the help of Ashen Fowl, leaving her friend, Tzita, behind to stay there and stage her death from her pursuer. Before parting, Vannie was given a coin they found during a storm as good luck charm. She then moved around from place to place until she ended up on Quin Zaza.[1][2]

Relationships

When asked by Takita, she could not formulate her thoughts on Mika, but agreed that Mika could be seen as scary. She seems to admire the way he views draking, and it is possible she gets along with him due to them both being reserved people. 

She cares deeply for Takita, and goes to great lengths to see her happy. Takita is one of the few people she seems to let her guard down around.
