CURRENT CLUB: Paris Saint-Germain (France)

Salvatore Sirigu has been PSG’s No. 1 goalkeeper since joining the club prior to the 2011-12 season. He will serve as Gianluigi Buffon’s backup at the World Cup.

ITALIAN NATIONAL TEAM

Sirigu made his international debut with Italy against Ivory Coast in 2010. He has played in one competitive match for the Azzurri.

CLUB CAREER

Sirigu started his career with Palermo but was loaned out to two lower league sides before appearing with the club. He played two seasons with the club as a starter before moving to PSG. He was named the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year the past two seasons.
