‘Doctors’ Star Kim Rae Won to Return as a Notorious Detective in New Crime Drama
Fans would get to see Kim Rae Won show off his combat skills in the upcoming K-drama “The Police Station Next To The Fire Station.”
According to an exclusive report cited by a local media outlet, the “Doctors’ star is set to appear in the upcoming series under SBS.
The 40-year-old actor took on the role of Jin Ho Kye, a police detective team inspector known for his killer instinct and excellent negotiation skills.
On top of it, he is determined to succeed in his mission and never let go once he starts an arrest operation.
Set to broadcast in the first half of 2022, “The Police Station Next To The Fire Station” depicts the story of a joint operation between the police and the fire department, headed by a driven detective, Jin Ho Kye.
The upcoming K-drama stimulates the viewer’s curiosity by delivering thriller scenarios illustrating the operation of the authorities in the middle of an emergency.
Kim Rae Won on Action Sci-Fi Series ‘L.U.C.A.: The Beginning’
Interestingly, the upcoming SBS series is the A-lister’s return to the small screen after the success of his 2020 action sci-fi K-drama “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning” alongside Lee Da Hee and Kim Sung Oh.
In the drama, the 40-year-old actor portrays Ji Oh, a man with an extraordinary power created from the greedy ambitions of people who have a strong desire for power.
His performance in the tvN drama drew the viewers’ attention as they saw how Kim Rae Won got deeply involved with his character portraying confusion, loneliness, and wrath.
Prior to the drama finale, he shared his experience and insights filming the sci-fi series.
In a report obtained by a South Korean outlet, the “Punch” star explained that he did his best, adding that he “deeply appreciates all the actors and staff members who worked hard and the viewers.”

Apart from Kim Rae Won’s new drama, the versatile actor has confirmed his appearance in the upcoming action movie “Decibel.”
He is working alongside the star-studded cast, including Jung Sang Hoon, Park Byung Eun, Jo Dal Hwan, Lee Sang Hee, Lee Jong Suk, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo.
Helmed by “Love Phobia” PD Hwang In Ho, the forthcoming action film began its production on April 20; however, there is no announcement regarding its official release date.
Kim Rae Woon is set to play Navy commander Kang Do Young, whose primary responsibility is to stop the terrorist attack in the heart of the city.
“Decibel” is his comeback to the big screen after starring in the 2019 rom-com movie “The Most Ordinary Romance” with award-winning actress Gong Hyo Jin.
After debuting in 1997, the Korean star made a name for himself after being cast in a slew of notable dramas.
He gained massive fame in the 2003 series “Attic Cat” followed by “My Little Bride,” “Love Story “Punch,” and the mega-hit medical K-drama “Doctors” with Hallyu star Park Shin Hye.
