DARREN FERGUSON has QUIT Peterborough United with the club in relegation danger.
The Scottish boss, 50, resigned in a phone call with club chief Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday.

Ferguson’s decision to walk away came just one day after Peterborough’s 1-0 defeat to fellow Championship struggles Derby County.
And after zero wins in the last two months, Posh are second-bottom in the table and five points from safety.
Ferguson, son of Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, was in his third spell at Peterborough, rejoining them in two years ago.
He led them to a second-place League One finish last season.
But things have not gone according to plan in the Championship this term, with Posh winning just five of their 31 games.
Peterborough confirmed Ferguson’s exit in a brief statement on Sunday night.

It read: “Peterborough United can confirm that the co-owners have accepted the resignation of manager Darren Ferguson following a phone call made by Darren to Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday.”
Ferguson’s decision came after he criticised his team’s dismal defeat to Derby, saying: “The lack of goals is a huge concern.
“You look at the way the game went and the amount of shots we had on target was nowhere near enough.
“We’re lacking quality in terms of really getting a foothold in games and there was so much space when the game went to 10 vs 10.
“All we had to do was keep switching the play but we found it too difficult. We didn’t move quickly enough.
“We’re not lacking heart, desire and effort, but just pure quality.
“It’s tough for the lads, we haven’t many players in that whole squad that have played any Championship so it was always going to be tough and so it proved.”
