Bebeto Yewah took over the head coaching duties for the Panthers during the summer of 2021. Yewah previously was an assistant coach at Davenport beginning in July 2019 and was moved into that role after one season as a volunteer assistant.

The Lansing native wrestled collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (2009-12) where he was a two-time NCAA Division III National Champion in two different weight classes including 133 pounds in 2010 and 141 in 2011. Yewah was also the national runner-up at 141 in 2012 for a third-consecutive All-American honor and finished his Eagles’ career with an overall record of 89-8.
 
Yewah also competed in the 2015 United World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas and represented his country of Cameroon. He wrestled in the 65 kg (143.3 lbs) weight class but dropped his opening match, 9-7, to a two-time bronze medalist.
 
Yewah’s coaching career began at UW-La Crosse as a student assistant (2013-14) to go with a stint as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, J.W. Sexton High School (2017-18) and a stop as the Head Coach at Waverly Middle School in Lansing (2018). He also has several years of experience working various wrestling camps.
 
Prior to coming to Grand Rapids in the fall of 2018, Yewah was the Director of Events at Addix Sports in Lowell.
