Bae Suzy, Yang Se-jong star in ‘Crash Landing on You’ director’s new drama ‘The Girl Downstairs’

Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong are reportedly co-starring in Netflix’s “The Girl Downstairs,” an upcoming K-drama based on the webtoon “Lee Doona!”

The two were spotted filming in South Korea over the weekend by local media outlet Joy News, which also confirmed the casting last month.

The Naver webtoon by Min Song-ah centers around a former K-pop idol, Lee Doo-na (Bae), who retires from the cutthroat industry in order to pursue her studies. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lee winds up living under the same roof as ordinary college student Lee Won Jun (Yang), and it isn’t long until the two start to develop feelings for one another. Netflix has not revealed whether the adaptation will follow the original storyline.

“The Girl Downstairs” is reportedly being directed by Lee Jeong-hyo, who is credited with directing other famous titles such as “Crash Landing on You,” “Romance is a Bonus Book” and the Korean version of “Criminal Minds.”
