Mary Pearl Streamer (1889-1907) – Find a Grave…
OBITUARY
DEATH OF A FRIEND
It is with profound regret that we chronicle the death at 8:30 o’clock of Miss Mary Streamer, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Streamer, and a prominent young lady of this community. The deceased was 18 years 22 days of age, and Mary was a good and kind hearted girl. She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her. Mary leaves a father, mother, three sisters and four brothers to mourn her departure. Mary’s girl friends were the pall bearers. They were Misses Eva Wiley, Carrie Hein, Edith Baker, Anna Blaylock, Nellie Walker and Lizzie Hein. The funeral took place at Bethlehem church on Saturday, April 6, at 11 0’clock, Rev. A. A. Shoultz conducting the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Bethlehem cemetery.
After the toil and trouble there cometh a day of rest;
After the weary conflict, peace on the Savior’s breast.
After the care and sorrow, the glory of light and love;
After the wilderness journey, the Father’s bright home above.
After the pain and sickness, the tears are all wiped away;
After the flowers are withered, no more of earth’s decay.
After the deep heart sorrow, an end of every strife;
After the daily crosses, a glorious crown of life.
Her life was like a fair sweet flower, That grew in fertile soil,
and then a chilling wind blew o’er, It faded and then was gone.
Dear parents weep not for the daughter who is gone
From this world of sorrow and pain.
For soon we’ll meet in the eternal home and be reunited again.
