Mina was actually born in the United States – San Antonio, Texas. Both of her parents are Japanese and she moved to back to Japan not too long after turning 3, but her family was there for her father’s work when she was born. This is why TWICE often jokes about her being their US Resident (which, legally, she is), but she left too early before ever learning much English. Similarly, this is why (even though she didn’t learn much), she has the best English pronunciation in the group.
