Vietnamese dancer Quang Dang and UNICEF collaborate to promote World Children’s Day
Ha Noi (Viet Nam), 13 November 2020 – Vietnamese dancer Quang Dang and UNICEF collaborate to release a new dance challenge on social media to promote World Children’s Day and raise awareness about climate change and the environment. The performing artist choreographed the moves on the song “Lets act together for the nature”, a joint product of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, singer Quan A.P and Nguyen Jenda.
“Dance can be very powerful to raise awareness, so I wish to use my talent for the cause of children,” said Quang Dang. “We are all concerned about protecting the environment and I want to encourage everyone, adults and children to act together to ensure every child can enjoy a greener and cleaner future.”
“Children have so many ways of expressing themselves and to show that they care about our planet” said Rana Flowers, UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam. “By collaborating with Quang Dang we want to encourage children to take action to protect the environment. Every action, however small, can have a big impact on our communities and on children’s future.”
Quang Dang rose to fame worldwide with his ‘hand-washing dance’ released in March 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
World Children’s Day is celebrated around the world to mark the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The theme of this year’s celebration in Viet Nam is “Reimaging a greener and cleaner Viet Nam for every child”. The celebration is meant to be a ‘day for children, by children’ and for them to feel inspired to take action.
