1866 Cornerstone Society
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville has come a long way from the founding of the Platteville Normal School on Feb. 28, 1866, but our basic tradition of stewardship remains the same.
The mission of the 1866 Cornerstone Society is to honor, recognize, and care for UW-Platteville’s most generous alumni and friends, connecting them to the university and to their gifts. Members of this society represent not only the highest level of giving, but also a vital part of the future success of the university.
The benefits of membership are manifold. As part of an elite group, 1866 Cornerstone Society members will receive special campus updates from the Office of the Chancellor, invitations to formal dinners and performances at the UW-Platteville Center for the Arts, and special recognition in the UW-Platteville Foundation Annual Report. Most importantly, members will have the opportunity to build relationships with fellow alumni and friends who share their same deep commitment to the university.
As our most exclusive group, the society recognizes those Pioneers whose dedication to supporting the continued growth and success of UW-Platteville meets one of two levels:
1866 Cornerstone Society
Friends who have gifted $25,000 or more over their lifetime
Friends who have a documented planned gift of $25,000 or higher (trust, bequest, annuity, etc.)
Friends who have pledged $25,000 or more
1866 Cornerstone Society Associate Members
Friends who have gifted $5,000 or more in the last fiscal year
